Who ARE Downland Chorale?

The Downland Chorale:  Providing extraordinary experiences for ordinary people!

We are a friendly community choir open to anyone who wishes to sing with us.  

All are welcome and no audition is necessary. 

We have three, free, open rehearsals on 1st, 8th and 15th September for anyone wanting to come and sing with no obligation.  Please arrive at 7:30pm.  

We are  supported by the Humphrey Richardson Taylor Charitable Trust.  

We stage four concerts each year in the Autumn, at Christmas, Easter and in the Summer and at an annual “Come and Sing” Workshop in the Spring, as well as singing for special events in the community such as weddings and seasonal gatherings.  

If you are interested in singing with an amazing group of people, taught by some amazing professionals and accompanied in concert by some amazing musicians - from a fabulous pianist to a full orchestra, please do give us a call today!   We have some part-funded places supported by Croydon Voluntary Action  in partnership with
Unibail-Rodamco- Westfield (Whitgift & Centrale) for people on a tight budget and anyone aged 16 - 25. 

JUST ANNOUNCED:  Four CHORAL SCHOLARSHIPS for the 2025/26 season thanks to the Humphrey Richardson Taylor Charitable Trust.

JOIN A REHEARSAL!

We rehearse from 8pm – 10pm every Monday evening during term time at:

Our rehearsals are open to potential new members, so feel free to come along and join us.

The Church is open from 7.30pm and we’d love to see you!

The 1st, 8th and 15th September are open to anyone free of charge and with no obligation if you want to come and try us out.

Thanks  to support from CVA in partnership with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (Whitgift & Centrale) we currently have funding to support you if you would find our normal fees too much for your personal budget.  We can provide support to anyone over the age of 16 who wants to sing - we have no auditions.
